3D Printing
3D printing at the library is for learning and entertainment purposes.
The Creative Studio is home to two Prusa MK3S+ 3D printers.
The Basics
- Cost: $.10 per gram PLA
- Print delivery: Within 7-10 business days
- Print time limit: Maximum of 10 hours per week
- Print dimensions: 9.84 in. (L) x 8.3 in. (W) x 8.3 in. (H)

The Fine Print
- The library cannot guarantee product quality, satisfaction, equipment availability or stability, confidentiality of design or specific delivery times.
- Members are responsible for clearing their own rafts and support pieces.
- The library reserves the right to refuse a print.
- 3D printing at the library is for learning and entertainment purposes. Prints from the library are not meant for commercial use.
- Must be a library cardholder in good standing (any public library in Illinois) in order to submit a print.
- To design your print, try PrusaSlicer 2.5.2 (free download)
To submit a print request, send Cathy an email (cathyr@byronlibrary.org) with the following information:
- Full name
- Library card number
- Filament color choice (from top to bottom: red, yellow, orange, pink, purple, turquoise, blue, lime green, hunter green, grey, white, black, gold, clear)
- Expected height of print
- Special print instructions
- Link to Thingiverse or Printables, or attach .stl or .gcode file
